社会及社区防控是疫情防控最基础、最重要、最艰巨的工作，省疫情防控工作领导小组专门设立社会及社区防控组，整合省委政法委、网信办、省公安厅等19家成员单位的力量和资源，协调组织各地、各有关部门开展社会面整体防控和重点防控，协助做好可疑病例查控、隔离等工作，维护人民群众生命健康安全和社会平安稳定，全力投入疫情防控阻击战。
江苏台记者吴迎旋说：“现在我所在的位置是南京南站到达层，所有乘坐高铁来到南京的人员都会经过远红外测温门这样的一个仪器，它在5米范围内可以对所有乘客的体表温度进行自动筛查，当发现有乘客的体表温度高过37.3摄氏度它就会自动报警。”
春节假期即将结束，不少旅客陆续踏上回程的旅途。为防控疫情，南京南站共设置13个测温点对来往旅客进行测温，逢人必测，并提示旅客必须佩戴口罩才可进站。同时，消杀工作也全面展开。
南京南站派出所中队长姜维说：“首先是地铁车站，我们和地铁工作人员一起，进行每天至少2次以上全面的消杀工作。尤其是一些重点区域，比如说像安检机、售票机、电梯扶手等等一些重点的区域；第二个是我们地铁的列车，每趟列车在到达终点站之后都要进行一次全面的消杀。“
与此同时，社区排查工作也在继续推进。在镇江四牌楼街道香江花城社区，记者看到，社区工作人员正在电话询问"居家隔离医学观察"居民的健康状况。
镇江香江花城社区党总支书记易苏川说：“要告诉他一些规定，比如说在家要呆14天，不要和外人接触，包括家里的人更不能外出，同时要配合卫生服务中心，进行量体温。”
在大数据信息技术支撑下，全省正依托网格化社会治理机制深入扎实开展"梳网清格"行动，60万基层网格力量通过上门走访、电话询访等方式排查疫情，基本实现居民家庭全覆盖，登记流动人口8.1万人，及时核查隔离了一批涉及疫情人员。
省疫情防控工作领导小组社会及社区防控组副组长、省公安厅治安总队总队长徐亚中说：“少数的居民群众发现了自己有异常状况，比如发热、腹泻，他不报告，对别人的生命健康造成了严重的威胁。一旦发现自己有发热等异常症状，要及时向社区的干部，包括我们公安民警反映这个问题，同时，迅速地进行自我隔离。”
目前，江苏社会及社区防控工作实行24小时、一体化、实战化运作，强化联防联控、群防群治，深入开展地毯式排查、全流程追溯、立体化防控。依托全省公安检查站、春运执法服务站、高速公路服务区警务站全面启动检疫工作，同时，在全省高速公路出入口、机场、火车站等节点设置临时查验点。整合公安、交通运输、卫健等部门人员力量，实行全天候值守。
盐城市公安局交通警察支队治安卡口大队开发区中队民警王启俊说：“我们全市所有28个高速入口，10个市级卡口，每个班次投入两警三辅三特警、三名卫健委部门的同志，对入城的所有车辆进行检查，人员进行体温检测，对车内随车携带的物品进行检查，逐一登记，确保守好城门关。”
此外，各地公安机关还针对制造传播谣言、制售伪劣防护物资、干扰疫情防控等违法犯罪行为，保持"零容忍"态度，截至目前，共依法查处此类案件883起、732人，其中刑事拘留21人，行政拘留112人。

A far-infrared temperature thermo-detector has been installed at the arrival floor of Nanjing South Railway Station. When passengers are within five meters of the entrance gate, the far-infrared temperature thermo-detector can automatically screen and detect the temperature and will automatically sound an alarm when a passenger's temperature is found to be higher than 37.3 degrees Celsius.
Nanjing South Railway Station has installed 13 temperature measuring sites to check the passengers' temperature with no exemptions. Passengers are also required to wear facial masks before entering the station. Besides, disinfectants are sprayed at regular intervals within the compound.
"We disinfect the subway station twice a day. Disinfectants are also sprayed onto security check machines, ticket vending machines and escalators. The subway trains are also disinfected for each ride," said Jiang Wei, a public security officer working at the station.
Efforts have also been made at the community level to trace people with symptoms such as fever, dry cough, respiratory symptoms, and fatigue and those of close contacts with the infected, so as to isolate and quarantine them for the prevention of the spread of the epidemic.
Authorities rely on big data to support the tracking and prevention of pneumonia caused by novel coronavirus. Thanks to the grid-based social governance system, 600,000 community workers have been organized to carry out door-to-door visits and phone inquiries to all the households across the province and register 81,000 migrant workers, which have helped to trace and isolate some suspected cases and close contacts of the infected.
"A few residents found that they had shown symptoms such as fever and diarrhea. If they do not report, they would pose a serious threat to the lives and health of the others. Those with symptoms such as fever and diarrhea must report to the authorities and request to be isolated on their own," Said Xu Yazhong, a government official in charge of epidemic prevention and control.
The prevention and control of the novel coronavirus epidemic has been carried out at the primary level round the clock at checkpoints, toll gates, airports, coach terminals and railway stations.
