它的神奇来自于极为苛刻的选材。
Its magic lies in the extremely strict selection of materials.
每年八月，藕梗成熟，
采集深水的藕梗才能得出
绵长有韧性的藕丝。
Every August, the lotus stems mature, and only the deep-water lotus stems yield long and resilient lotus fibers.
这个看似自然的过程曾失传了近两百年，
直到第六代传承人缪德根才得以运用。
This seemingly natural process remained lost for nearly two centuries, until the sixth-generation heir, Miao Degen, rediscovered it.
当年采摭的藕丝不能立刻使用，
需要经过一年的时间静置阴干。
The lotus fibers harvested this year cannot be used immediately, instead, they need to be air-dried in the shade for a year before they can be utilized.
所以在缪德根的保险柜里，
存放着不同年份的阴干藕丝，
这是他的珍宝。
Therefore, in Miao Degen's safe, there are stored shade-dried lotus fibers from different years, which are his treasures.
蓖麻油则要日晒夜露6年以上，
集天地之精华，在自然中风化。
等待油体形成膏状有稠度，方为上品。
Castor oil requires exposure to sunlight and dew for over six years, harnessing the essence of heaven and earth while undergoing natural weathering.
It awaits the formation of a thick, viscous glyceridetexture, which is the hallmark of superior quality.
